10. The Weeping Angels
PLAYED BY: Various
ONSCREEN: 2007, 2010-Present
RATING: 80.69%
I think the weeping angels are an ingenious creation and I am greatly looking forward to their return in the future. Although I feel they worked better when we never saw them move, they're still terrifying for small children and adults alike, which certified their placing in the top ten.

9. Davros
PLAYED BY: Michael Wisher; David Gooderson; Terry Molloy; Julian Bleach
ONSCREEN: 1975, 79, 84, 86, 88, 2008
RATING: 81.63%
Davros had always been my favourite villain, and now it seems he's yours too! Yes the wheelchair-residing maniac has been popular since his first appearance in the legendary Genesis of the Daleks back in 1975, and although his actors my have varied, his insanity has remained in tact. I would've been very surprised if Davros hadn't had made the top ten, as he is fully deserving of his place. Any thoughts?

8. Donna Noble
PLAYED BY: Catherine Tate
ONSCREEN: 2006, 08-10
RATING: 82.10%
I have never had a problem with Catherine Tate. Even in her first appearance, in which she, ahem, wasn't her best, I liked her. Many fans were horrified when she was announced as the next companion for David Tennant's third series, but she soon blew the majority away with her incredible performance. Donna is my favourite new series companion, and one of my favourite of all time, and I would've been very upset had she not made the top ten. I think she is in perfect position. Any contrasting opinions?

7. The Tenth Doctor
PLAYED BY: David Tennant
ONSCREEN: 2006-10
RATING: 82.53%
Well. I bet this is a surprise for most of you! I honestly thought the Tenth Doctor would top this thing, but it seems there were six other characters who just had to be ranked higher. David's popularity in the role was incredible and I think not to have him in the top ten would've been a crime against nature. A good placing for a brilliant Doctor, but maybe not as high as you would've thought. What do we think?

6. The Eleventh Doctor
PLAYED BY: Matt Smith
ONSCREEN: 2010-Present
RATING: 82.62%
Current Doctors ALWAYS do well in polls like this, and Matt is no exception. That said, he has created an excellent Doctor, and one whom I imagine will top polls for years to come. I find it difficult to judge current characters against past ones, but to me the Eleventh Doctor is a very good one, and fully deserves his place in the top 10.

5. The Daleks
PLAYED BY: Various
ONSCREEN: 1963-Present
RATING: 84.09%
The Doctor's most formidable foe, second only to Mary Whitehouse, without the Daleks, we probably wouldn't be sat here talking about Doctor Who today. Undeniably the most important monster in the show's history, the Daleks have now integrated themselves into British pop culture as much as The Beatles or Shakespeare, and their popularity has meant that they've appeared frequently in the show since the second story. I love the ole' pepperpots and they definitely needed to be placed in the top 5. Any thoughts?

4. Wilfred Mott
PLAYED BY: Bernard Cribbins
ONSCREEN: 2007-10
RATING: 84.94%
Bernard Cribbin's cameo appearance in Voyage of the Damned was lovely, but no-one at the time thought we'd ever see him again. However, due to the sad passing away of Howard Attfield, who played Donna's dad Geoff, a replacement male figure in her family was required and Russell T Davies turned to national treasure Bernard Cribbins. I am a very big fan of Wilf, and Bernard Cribbins for that matter, but I'm not sure what people will say about him being ranked so highly. I certainly wasn't expecting it, but then, I genuinely cannot fault the character in any way. So, I think he deserves his place. But do you?

3. The Fourth Doctor
PLAYED BY: Tom Baker
ONSCREEN: 1974-81, 83
RATING: 85.41%
Taking the bronze is arguably the most recognisable Doctor, particularly to our friends across the pond, Tom Baker's manic performance as the Time Lord has withstood the test of time. He remained in the role longer than any other actor to date, and ever since has remained a firm favourite with many fans, including this poll, in which he is the highest ranking Doctor. There are numerous reasons for his popularity, but one I think is that he has a broad appeal to people of ALL ages, due to Tom Baker's ability of being able to mix strong humour and strong drama with ease. Although not my personal favourite Doctor, definitely a deserving victor, and a very deserving third place position. What do you think?
