Story 002 - The Daleks
Broadcast: 21st December 1963 - 1st February 1964
Thoughts: Though it is perhaps the most important Doctor Who story of all time, The Daleks is actually disappointingly lacklustre. The first two episodes are wonderful, but it all starts to go downhill when the Thals arrive. There are still some wonderful moments which sparkle, such as the first view of the city or the earlier cliffhangers, but as a whole it's overlong and really rather slow.

Story 006 - The Aztecs
Broadcast: 23rd May - 13th June 1964
Thoughts: The definitive Who historical, The Aztecs is still extremely enjoyable today.

Story 020 - The Myth Makers
Broadcast: 16th October - 6th November 1965
Thoughts: A hilarious romp with belly-laugh jokes that is all unexpectedly flipped on its head in the final gruesome episode, in itself one of the finest examples of true drama Doctor Who has ever achieved. Hartnell shines throughout, and the serial boasts the best cast of any 1960s Who; Frances White gives a particularly juicy performance as the miserable and foreboding Cassandra. Vastly underrated because it is missing, The Myth Makers is one of the greatest Doctor Who stories of all time.
